Slug Sandwich

I am a big escargot fan. I am. When they serve those elegant little plates with 8 little indents, and a sizzling garlicky snail in each one, I feel pret-ty fancy. So back in January I was in a fairly good French restaurant in St. Maarten, and ordered what was described as escargots in a puff pastry. What I got was a snail sandwich. There is something about biting into a sandwich loaded up with 40 snails in a curry sauce that was overwhelming, to say the least. I still get a shivver when I think of that stupid snail sandwich. Brr. there it is again...
